Really?!

That was a low blow Lord....a really low blow....

Reading once again in the scriptures (sick of these posts yet?) I encountered the following:

Mark 9:36-37
"And he took a child, and set him in the midst of them: and when he had taken him in his arms, he said unto them, Whosoever shall receive one of such children in my name, receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me, receiveth not me, but him that sent me."

So if we reverse what he said it should sound something like: Whosoever shall not receive one of such children in my name, does not receive me or he that sent me....

You all know my struggle with wanting to have children...in fact I am downright stubborn about it....I just felt reprimanded once again by the Lord....and like he was telling me if I refuse to have children then I am, in a sense, refusing the Lord....sigh.....but I am not ready :(

don't have kids till you're ready then. don't listen to the pressure of others cause you are the one HAVING the kid. it's got to be all or nothing though. the lord is not going to throw in a kid and wish for the best. he knows and he'll help you know. also i wanted to upvote your opinion of utah drivers. i'm so lucky to live in washington.

I don't think the Lord would want you to have children if it wasn't your heart's desire, and you're still young! You have plenty of time to have kids! The Lord can change your heart about it, or He can just decide to give you one (which he would then prepare you for- He won't give us anything we can't handle) because ultimately it's His decision anyway. He may have used this verse to speak to you personally about having your own kids, but I think in context it's more talking about being willing to minister to children and guiding them to become children of of the Lord. If we weren't willing to show our love that way then people may not believe we love the Lord. So don't worry, Sarah. I think you would make a great mom but rest assured it's all in God's hands :-)

I second Katie's thoughts! It took me awhile before I felt like I was ready to have kids. I always kind of worried about it, like, what would I do if I never felt ready? And, although I don't think you're ever COMPLETELY ready for something like that, I do know that the Lord helps change our hearts when the time is right! I know you'll be fine when the time is right and like Katie said, you'll be a great mom!!

i totally agree, it has to be something you want and feel at least somewhat ready for! I have grown so much as a person by being a mom, more than I ever anticipated, but growing is a painful process at times and the Lord doesn't want us to feel bitter or resentful toward our kids!
