I have OCD.
That's right I admit it! I have obsessive chewing disorder. I can't buy a pack of gum and have it last longer than a couple hours let a lone a whole 24 hour period. Why is that? I have to chew at least 5 pieces of gum at once it seems (and I am buying the kind that has flavor that lasts forever- orbit)...and then my jaw gets tired and then 10 minutes later (or less) I want more gum...a vicious never-ending cycle of chewing and spitting....I don't know why I do this...but because of this I try not to buy gum very often or my gum bill would be just as high as my gasoline or grocery bill....I usually turn to gum chewing when I am trying to lose weight...I have decided that, like smokers, I enjoy having things in my mouth (don't think too hard on that)....when I can't think of anything else to do I want something to chew on...boredom is not good for me...it makes me fat or makes me have a ridiculously high chewing gum bill....i just thought I would share that little tidbit of knowledge with whoever reads this...

That's funny! I have that problem if I buy really good tasting gum. If I get just a regular old spearmint or wintermint then I'm usually okay with one piece, but if I have fruit flavored, especially Orbit watermelon hydrating gum then I'm at its mercy!!
I only chew gum when I leave the house and realize I forgot to brush my teeth. (That never happened before I had kids. lol) Mike used to be a real gum addict until he realized it made him swallow a lot of air and he was always having to suppress burps. (I'm on my 6th year of knowing him and can count on one hand how many times I've heard him burp, and on that note, I still haven't heard him fart. I consider myself blessed.) But I digress. Anyway, he now chews gum like I do, or if he wants to be all romantic and there's not a toothbrush nearby I give him a piece of gum. I'm so squeamish about breath nowadays.
I used to have that problem....I finally quit 3 years ago and haven't used gum sense....well ok that's a lie, but the rare times I actually chew gum now, it's because someone else bought it. So I guess I can say I haven't bought any gum in 3 years! Probably a little crazy...but I was really addicted. Really.
