What's up with us?

Hmmm....what to say....I am reading a lot and teaching a lot...and exercising a lot...Andy is enjoying school and was told he should apply for the Masters program at ISU in Spanish which is really good news for him....I finished the other books I mentioned and also read Jurassic Park..good book. Since then I have checked out The Lost world and Prey by Michael Crichton; The Wizard of London, Reserved for the Cat and Rediscovery by Mercedes Lackey; and of course an MCAT study book. I am contemplating medical school- it is not for sure...I am just thinking about it....I talked with the Navy earlier this week about working for them as a chemist and they mentioned I should look into taking the MCAT and possibly their medical program...this is all hypothetical....but I don't know if I have enough energy to do med school....family came and went this past weekend...first my mom, her husband and the neish monster and then my hubby's parents for a few days....it is horrible how the economy is really affecting all of us...Andy's parents keep moving from place to place trying to find a job that they can stay with...and I am also having problems trying to get hired in a job that will pay the bills...not fun....on a lighter note....I have been making a lot of curry lately...yum yum. in the past two weeks I made curry twice (2 different ways), spicy meatballs on rice, ham hock and bean soup, and monkey bread:

4 cans Pillsbury biscuit (get the kind that come in a 4 pack, the small ones, not the Grands)

Sugar coating:
2/3 brown sugar - I was running low on brown sugar, so I used 1/3 cup white and 1/3 cup brown
1/2 tsp cinnamon

Syrup topping:
3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) butter
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 Tbsp cinnamon

Preheat oven to 350. Spray your angel food cake or bundt pan.

Mix the sugar coating in a ziplock bag (feel free to add more cinnamon and/or sugar if you run out during the coating process). Cut the biscuits into 4 (kitchen shears work great for this). Drop the biscuit pieces into the ziplock bag and shake to coat. Drop coated biscuit pieces into the prepared pan.

Bring syrup ingredients to a boil. Boil for 5 minutes, then pour over biscuit pieces. Bake for 35 minutes.

Turn over onto plate and serve while hot.

Super tasty!!!! I am craving it right now actually, but do not have the ingredients....and do not know if I want to spend money on something we do not need....seeing as how money is really tight and we want to go on a vacation in December and need to save money in order to do that...hmmm....hopefully it will be possible....sigh.....I finished the 3 mos. P90x program- didn't lose weight(because I didn't eat right), but am a lot stronger than I was....which is nice....well anywho...this has been an update for all my bored and eagerly waiting readers...ttfn!

what a fun update and recipe! Jared really liked The Time Machine by Michael Crichton, if you want to check it out. I still really wish I could come take your classes!
