This past weekend was pretty eventful. Andy and I hung out with Alicia and Blake and introduced them to some of our strange humor ;) They were good sports and even said they would like to hang out with us again....then Andy's fam came in town for father's day...but I was so sleepy so I wasn't much fun to hang out with. Then Monday night we went up to Island park because Andy's friend's family has a timeshare there- we only stayed one night- and I was a party pooper because I have put on so much weight and nothing fits- not even my swim suit...I was pretty upset....I exercise like crazy and I am gaining weight like crazy- and no I am not prego- I have taken multiple pregnancy tests....well anywho...we came home and I found this in my email:
Dear Sarah,
How is life going? How is Idaho? Your crystallographic paper is essentially ready to go, I just need to walk it upstairs and get the final approval from Dr. Ham and then send you a copy for your final say. (Sorry it has taken so long, I have been a little busy).
I am currently finishing a grant that will go out next week. The grant is to a non-profit foundation. The foundation likes to know who I will hire with the grant money. I would like to put your name down (with your CV/Resume). If I get the grant, the funds should arrive by September of this year. Would you like to do some research? If so, send me you info (CV/Resume). The grant deals with a high throughput screen for therapeutics against muscular dystrophy and some cloning/enzymology of one of the proteins involved. I think you could easily help with the screening and be our resident organic chemist. I will be purchasing a large chemical library (~50,000 compounds). I will also be screening for inhibitors to a key protein involved in the process. Want to learn some docking?
Since I am writing the grant right now, I have not put a value on the position yet. How much would it take to get you and your family to move back to BYU?
