Run 13

I did it!!! I ran my first half marathon!!! Let me just say that it was probably one of the most painful experiences in my life- but I finished it in about 2 1/2 hours. The first 11 miles I ran with two girls shorter than me ( believe it or not there are people shorter than me) and we were keeping about a 10 minute mile pace, but as soon as I hit mile 11 I was in so much pain- my toes were hurting, my feet were hurting, my legs were sore, but the worst of all was my neck was hurting so bad. So I had to walk for a bit and try to work the knots that had built up in my neck out and then I lost the two girls I was running with. The last two miles I ended up run/walking and listening to the ipod shuffle we had bought just for this occasion. As soon as I crossed that finish line they wanted the chip on my ankle that recorded my time- which meant I had to bend over to get it. As I bent over I could here all the bones in my back pop- it was kind of funny. I tried to walk around a bit, but ultimately ended up laying on my back on the grass. I tried to stretch but could barely move. Finally I worked up the energy to go find some water and to take the above picture. The rest of the day I had issues walking because my legs were so sore, but it was worth it- just to say I finished a half marathon- I ran 13.1 miles by myself and without proper training. I did it and as soon as I forget how painful it was I will do it again. (I do not know why everything is underlined and can't figure out how to stop it, because when I press ctrl U some screen pops up with computer language so I do not know how to turn the underline off- if someone does please tell me).

AMAZING!!! Nice work!!! I'm so happy for you, it's so much fun. So painful, but so rewarding! I'm glad it went so well. And ya, I might work out at the gym, but I went running outside for the first time in months yesterday, and I'm not kidding, I feel like I did right after my marathon, I'm THAT sore. So I seriously admire you right now, and (kindof) feel your pain! Haha. Love!
